Position Reports to: General Manager
Status: Hourly + Bonus + Commission
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Pilates Instructor is to provide safe, effective group Pilates instruction in accordance with all Club Pilates guidelines and expectations. The Lead Pilates Instructor is an exemplary example of this and ensures that all instructional staff within the studio are abiding by brand standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 450-hour Comprehensive Pilates education (Minimum education to include; Mat, Reformer, Chair, and Springboard)
- At least 2 years’ experience teaching Pilates
- Up to date CPR & First Aid training and willingness to maintain
- Deep understanding and alignment with the Club Pilates methods
- Comfortable learning and adding TRX, Functional Standing Movement(Barre), and TriggerPoint modalities to repertoire
- Demonstrate anatomical knowledge and attention to safety
- Demonstrated group reformer instruction abilities with ability to modify for different individuals in class
- Experience teaching 6 or more participants in an apparatus-based group class
- Passion for learning and willingness to complete continued education trainings or workshops

- Professional and effective communication skills with proven public speaking skills

- Proficient in (or ability to learn) ClubReady software for basic use
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Maintain open availability for a minimum of 15 hours (4 shifts) per week
- Provide Pilates instruction (intro classes, group apparatus classes, Private Training Assessments, private and semi-private training) as scheduled by management and pursuant to Club Pilates standards
- Teach at least 2 Intro classes per week
- Participate in monthly Lead Instructor conference calls and subsequent training of staff in regards to topics covered on these calls
- Manage studio schedule and ensure class types, times, levels, and instructors scheduled are ideal to maximize occupancy and member satisfaction
- Manage sub requests and adjust schedule accordingly
- Ensure that all images posted on social media sites reflect proper form and safety standards and are in alignment with Club Pilates brand standards
- Stay up to date with, and implement Club Pilates education standards at all times
- Track and review the other instructors for proficiency and performance
- Mentor instructors as needed to ensure their teaching reflects Club Pilates standards
- Plan and provide member workshops
- Plan and execute instructor workshops
- Must be skilled at proper and safe use of a variety of equipment during each class, including, but not limited to, hand weights, Chair, Reformer, Springboard, TRX, Magic Circle and other equipment as needed to ensure a safe yet creative group experience
- Visually inspect the equipment prior to the beginning of class to ensure equipment is in good working order and safe to use
- Responsible for studio tidiness and returning equipment to standards set by studio management
- Must arrive at a set time prior to the beginning of each scheduled class or private/semi-private session
- Participate in networking/community events as needed to help generate new business
- Stay up to date with, and implement, Club Pilates education standards at all times
- Maintain honesty and integrity
- Any other duties as assigned
